Permission has been granted for Club Jockeys Brett Prebble and Douglas Whyte to be absent from Hong Kong in order to partner LUCKY NINE (Trainer Caspar Fownes) and GLORIOUS DAYS (Trainer John Size) respectively in the Yasuda Kinen (Group 1) scheduled to be conducted at the Tokyo Racecourse, Japan on Sunday, 3 June 2012.
Both Jockeys Prebble and Whyte have advised that they will depart Hong Kong on Thursday, 31 May 2012 and return on Monday, 4 June 2012. As such, they will not be available to accept race riding engagements at the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 3 June 2012.

** And another AUSSIE! to arrive in Hong Kong! The Committee yesterday agreed to grant, subject to the usual formalities, a Club Jockey's licence to Mark Zahra for the period Sunday, 27 May 2012 until the conclusion of the current racing season.

What a great racemeeting today! FLASH KNIGHT was a great start to the day paying $8.
And it was a BOB OF THE HEAD JOB in the last ~ unfortunately it didn't go our way and VOILE ROUGE was beaten a nostril. Results in Hong Kong are often decided by the narrowest of margins.

JAMES McDONALD ~ Awesome Jockey! Great ride in a very slowly run race to win the BMW Champions Mile on XTENSION. He has ridden 13 Group 1 winners and he is only 20 ! God, I hope he comes to ride in Honkers permanently!
Dominant with the Whyte Man in the saddle (Douglas Whyte) was just that in the HKG3 Queen Mother Memorial Cup at Sha Tin today as he overcame a troubled passage to secure his first Hong Kong success by a length and a half.
Future Meetings and course selection for the remainder of May at Sha Tin and Happy Valley.
